At Kennedy & Nash Portraiture we capture moments and create memories thereof. Candid Portraiture, photojournalism and landscape photography are our areas of expertise. Photography to us is a way of appreciating life by capturing and preserving it for later indulgence. It is a beautiful art with one can use to bring happiness into people’s lives and inspire them to be the best they can be.
First thing first who are we? We go by the names Kennedy and Nash Zvinairo (it's a mouthful we know lol, happy to teach you to pronounce it). We are a married couple with a passion for art. Our journey of photography started in 2018, then we were still dating. We got married in 2019 in Stellenbosch South Africa at Barrique Restaurant Vredeheim. A lovely place, and we highly recommend it if you are looking for a beautiful wedding venue. From then on we have been working together in various artsy stuff not limited to Photography.
Mainly we are Lifestyle Photographers, therefore, concentrate on photoshoots like WEDDINGS, COUPLES, BIRTHDAYS, MATRIC BALLS, FAMILIES, BIRTHDAYS ETC. People are a big interest to us.
Kennedy is the main Photographer and editor, a very outdoor type of person - he would totally be happy living on the road. Nash is the second shooter/assistant, Manager and choreographer. And yes photography needs a choreographer, we have seen a lot of shy couples come around and it takes great skill to help them lighten up and get cosy for those romantic poses and she's very good at it. She's an indoor cat - probably the reason why Kennedy eventually comes home every day rather than stay outdoors. You probably wondering why am writing in the third person, well I don't know either I couldn't decide whether to write as Kennedy or Nash so figured why not neither.
For our style, we generally prefer a photojournalistic/candid approach. This is whereby we capture the moment as it happens rather than the general smile, say cheese and snap approach. The reason being, as our motto says, we like to capture the emotions such that when all that remains are those pictures you can look back and feel yourself in that very moment as if it were happening then. If we can do that for each and every client then we can say we have achieved our goal. So even if we pose you we like to capture the spontaneous moments such as those laughers you make and the awkward moments - everything that's important for that memory. At some point, all that remains of any given moment/event is the memories and what better way to relive a memory than through an image? A picture says a thousand words so imagine how many words a package from Kennedy & Nash Portraiture will say.
